Educational & Developmental Needs 2010 and 2009
[Link to 2009]

From birth through the teenage years, the provision of age-appropriate developmental and educational tools is crucial to an orphan's future success.  Hope's Heart supports endeavors to provide books, school tuitions,  and toys to promote stimulation, learning and growth for orphans of all ages.  When special needs orphans are unable to attend public school, the creation of a school within the orphanage is a creative solution to bring the opportunity of development in a classroom setting to them.

2010 Education & Development Projects

School Sponsorship Renewals

November/December 2010-
Education sponsorships provide an orphan with the opportunity to attend school in their local village/town.  School attendence enrichs the child's academic, social, physical and emotional well being.  Sponsorships have been renewed for James, Alice, Ben, Lianne, Jane and Ellie.

Toys and School Supplies

October 2010-
We know that even a modest gift like a small toy or school supplies can bring joy to an orphans heart, give them a sense of worth and importance, and motivate their minds to develop.  A number of children in multiple villages were blessed with new toys, pens, makers, and other supplies.  What a blessing to see how this simple act impacts their lives.

Another Year of School

September 2010-
Kimmie's school sponsorship has been renewed for another year.  This investment in her life gives her opportunities as an orphan that she would not otherwise have.  You will almost always find Kimmie with a smile on her face.  What a joy!

New School Sponsorship

September 2010-
It's a joy to begin sponsoring Daniel for his schooling.  He is new to the classroom and adjusting so well, eager to interact with the other children.

School Sponsorship Renewals

July/August 2010-
In May, we had the joy of spending a week at one of the schools where we sponsor a number of children for school attendance.  The teachers are doing an incredible job of helping the children grow in self confidence, social skill, physical and mental stimulation, and many other areas of development.  The kids were happy and interacted so well with us.  We are now renewing the sponsorship of each one of them for another six months:  Alli, Vicky, Chase, Samuel, Emily, Parker, Kaden, Beth, Dalton, Sammy, Steven, Matthew, Teddy and Sylvia.

School Sponsorship Renewals

April 2010-  Hearing and seeing the tremendous value of school attendance on these special children, we are honored to renew their sponsorships for another 4 months.  Thank you for your donations that make this possible for Samuel and Matthew, Steven,  Beth and Sylvia, Rachael,  and Sammy.

Developmental Toys

March/April 2010-
Play is essential to development, and toys that help stimulate positive growth can also be lots of fun.  The benefits are far reaching  in the areas of physical, cognitive and emotional growth.  Approximately 75 orphaned children in foster care are each being gifted with  a special developmental toy.  We trust these toys will give them hours and hours of stimulating fun and activity.

April 2010-
After seeing how thrilled the children [above] were to receive their developmental toys, we just had to provide toys for more orphanages.  Here is a sampling of more children delighted with their new toys.

More School Sponsorship Renewals

March 2010-
Providing the opportunity for these children to spend a portion of their day in school is an investment with a huge return.  We're pleased this month to be able to renew education sponsorships for Lee, Teddy, Parker and Gracie.   Our gratitude is extended to the donors who help support these special children.  Thank you!

July UPDATE-  Gracie has been adopted!

Specialized Schooling Renewal

March 2010- Alaina is in her third year of school sponsorship, and what a joy it is to watch her grow and develop.  Alaina's sponsorship is unique in a couple ways.  One, all of our school sponsored kids are much younger; and two, Alaina's sponsorship allows here the opportunity to attend a specialize school for the deaf.  What a perfect match since Alaina has hearing loss.  She works hard in her studies and has a talent for drawing.  We are honored to help enrich her life and give Alaina the tools for a brighter future.

May update- Alaina excels in folk art skills, and now is working and studying to develop her classic art techniques.

Four Education Renewals

February 2010-
It is our pleasure to renew education sponsorships for Ben, Alice, James and Ellie to attend public school.  James is in his fourth year of sponsorship, and Ellie in her third.

Happy To Go To School

January 2009-  Having the opportunity to go to school is one not all orphans have.  We are honored to give Anna the opportunity to attend a special school within the orphanage.  Her time in this program will help promote growth, stimulation, development and building of self esteem vital to her overall health.
