Basic Life Needs 2009 and 2010
[Link to 2009]

Hope's Heart desires for all orphans to have their basic needs met.  These include food, clothing, shelter, and attention to their special needs.  This goal can often be met through child sponsorship programs and foster care placements.  Nutrition programs provide high quality formula to at-risk babies whose bodies require added nutrition to thrive, or for those babies who are preparing for or recovering from surgery.  Other basic life needs may be met through programs that supply winter clothing, shoes or new cribs.

2010 Basic Life Projects

More Foster Care Renewals

January 2010-
Investing in a child's life is always a win-win situation.  When it comes to foster care placement, the funding to help them remain in foster care is an investment with huge dividends.  To be cared for and loved in a family setting is a gift with highest value.  This month we have renewed funding to help Debra, Evan, Judson, Gavin, Henry, Zane and Lucy remain in foster care.

2 Foster Care Renewals

January 2010-
The year is beginning with the renewed sponsorship of Boaz and Susan.  Sponsored for over a year and a half now, we see the extreme value in foster care, and are so grateful to donors who make Susan and Boaz's sponsorships possible.  What a joy to know these two are receiving such attentive care.  We enjoy watching them grow, and hope they will one day have a forever family.

2009 Basic Life Projects

Preemie Care

December 2009- Babies born prematurely struggle to survive more than full term babies.  Even more so is the case for those who are abandoned and reside in orphanages.  Thankfully, Marshal has been given the chance to live at a special home that compassionately cares for babies with such special needs.  We are expecting to watch him overcome challenges and grow healthy and happy.  Already he is showing positive signs.

Four Cleft Home Babies

Foster care is essential to Christopher's forward progress and development.  We have seen the difference foster care has made for him in the past, and we are honored to continue funding his placement for the next six months.  Lively and outgoing, Christopher is very happy to be with his Papa because he plays games with him.

January 2009-
Two special little guys have joined foster homes. What an honor to help support their placements.  Matthew and Chun were both born with clubbed feet.  Attention has been given to correct these medical challenges and now they are both in foster care.  Placement with a family will aid in continuing to monitor their special needs as well as to give them lots of hugs and love.

March UPDATE- Both of these little boys are adjusting well to their foster families.  Matthew is becoming more outgoing and likes looking at books.  Chun spends his days playing with small toys, being carried by his foster mother, taking his naps and eating snacks.

June UPDATE- Yea!  Chun was adopted this month!  Matthew is doing well.  His favorite activity is going outside and playing with cars, pretending he is driving.  Matthew climbs well, does steps, and follows a sequence of two commands.  His social skills are good.

September UPDATE- Matthew spends his days playing, walking and bouncing on a trampoline.  His favorite activities are bouncing balls and picking  leaves.  He is now three years old.

Carryover from 2008

January 2009-
Entering 2009, twenty one [21] children, ranging in age from 4 months to 7 years old, continue in sponsorship programs that provide for their basic life needs.  Primarily, this consists of funding to cover their daily costs of food, clothing, shelter, care taking and basic medical care.  Most of these children have the privilege of living with a foster family in the town or city of the orphanage.  The children are from seven programs in three different provinces.

We continue to support these beautiful children and look forward to continued involvement in their lives.
